DPF Monitors Water Situation and Issues Warnings for 7 Risk Zones in Chiang Mai Along with Relief Measures for Affected Businesses, Including Fee Exemptions for Impacted Factories

The Disaster Prevention and Relief Center (DPF) continues to closely monitor the water situation in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, especially in high-risk areas where water levels in the Ping River are expected to rise. Warnings have been issued for seven key zones in Chiang Mai to prepare for possible flooding.

1. High-Risk Zones in Chiang Mai :

• Zone 1: Ban Pa Phrao Nok, Riverside Restaurants
• Zone 2: Charoen Prathet Road, Montfort Primary School
• Zone 3: Ban Den, Provincial Electricity Authority
• Zone 4: Rimping Supermarket, Gold Market
• Zone 5: Nong Hoi Market, Montfort Secondary School
• Zone 6: Chang Klan Road, Night Bazaar
• Zone 7: Kad Luang, Train Station

2. Recovery in Chiang Rai : The water levels have begun to recede, and DPF has been actively involved in restoring Thanarath Village by dredging mud from drainage pipes and repairing damaged dikes.

3. Support from the Ministry of Industry : The Minister of Industry has announced relief measures for factory operators affected by flooding, including an exemption from annual fees for factories damaged since May 2024.

Steps to Apply for Relief :

• Applications can be submitted from today until October 31, 2024.
• Download the form from the Department of Industrial Works website.
• Fill in the required information.
• Submit the documents to the Provincial Industrial Office where the factory is located.

Note: Operators who have already paid their fees for 2024 will receive an exemption for 2025.
