The large-scale groundwater project in Nong Fai Subdistrict, Lao Khwan District, Kanchanaburi Province, stands out as a notable achievement in continuing King Rama X’s Royal Initiative on water management. This project not only alleviates the drought crisis affecting the lives of residents but also serves as a model for sustainable groundwater development.
The project’s implementation includes constructing a large-scale water supply system, involving the drilling of groundwater wells, the installation of water pumps, and the construction of two large steel water tanks with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters each. Additionally, two 300-cubic-meter water pressure maintenance tanks were built along with a water tower. Furthermore, a groundwater learning center and a clean drinking water service station were established to educate the community on water resource management and raise awareness of the importance of water conservation.
The project’s results are clearly visible and tangible, directly benefiting over 58,000 people from approximately 11,600 households. The project has also significantly increased water availability for agriculture, expanding irrigated areas to over 300,000 rai, with the system capable of producing 2.3 million cubic meters of water annually. The success of this project has also extended its impact to neighboring subdistricts in Lao Khwan District, ensuring that a broader population has access to a stable water supply.

His Majesty has given great importance to this project, demonstrating a commitment to easing the suffering of his people by ensuring an adequate and sustainable supply of water for both consumption and agriculture. The success of this project has profoundly improved the quality of life for the local population.
