BYD, a world-renowned electric vehicle manufacturer, has selected Thailand as its first production base in ASEAN, launching a new factory in the WHA Industrial Estate in Rayong. The facility is set to produce high-quality electric vehicles for export throughout the region and to Europe.
The factory spans over 600 rai and has a maximum production capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. It will not only manufacture vehicles for sale in Thailand but also export to ASEAN countries and Europe. Additionally, BYD has introduced a new spare parts warehouse, RÊVER BYD Spare Parts Warehouse, covering 18,000 square meters, designed to store over 1 million spare parts with modern management systems and rapid delivery to service centers nationwide. This factory represents a significant step in elevating Thailand's electric vehicle industry and will create over 10,000 job opportunities for Thais.
The opening of BYD's factory in Thailand confirms the country's potential as a hub for electric vehicle production in ASEAN. This investment will not only strengthen the Thai economy but also promote the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles in the region.
