BOI participates in CISCE to strengthen China-ASEAN supply chain

The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) participated in the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), in Beijing, People's Republic of China. This expo served as the largest international supply chain conference and exhibition in the world with participants from government agencies, business organizations, and leading companies across 85 countries worldwide. During the expo, BOI took the stage at the ASEAN Supply Chain Cooperation to present Thailand as both a hub for advanced technology investment and a gateway for the China-ASEAN supply chain.

On this occasion, BOI also discussed with investors and industry leaders from China and various countries to exchange ideas on enhancing cooperation and strengthening the ASEAN region's supply chain. BOI affirmed Thailand's readiness to encourage collaboration in three sectors: 1) digital supply chain enhancement through AI technology, 2) green industry promotion and development, as well as 3) advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Officials also stated that the cooperation between China and ASEAN will be crucial for building economic resilience and maintaining the region's long-term competitiveness.

CISCE offered an important opportunity for Thailand to showcase its potential as a premiem global hub for investment and production in the ASEAN region, especially in future industries such as semiconductors, smart electronics, electric vehicles, digital, and clean energy. This aligned with the economic development directions of both Thailand and China, as well as the strategic initiative to enhance cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, and tech industry in the future.
