Bangkok Ends Disaster Designation in 21 Districts; 29 Remain Affected

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt signed an announcement on 29 September 2026 ending the disaster designation in 21 of the city’s 50 districts. The designation remains in place in 29 districts.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration had declared all 50 districts disaster areas on 25 September after persistent heavy rain caused flooding and traffic disruption. The city administration said the heavy rain has ended. A district-level assessment found 21 districts no longer affected, 14 moderately affected, and 15 severely affected.

The 21 districts where the designation has ended are Khlong Toei, Khlong San, Chom Thong, Taling Chan, Thon Buri, Bang Khae, Bangkok Yai, Bangkok Noi, Bang Khun Thian, Bang Kho Laem, Bang Rak, Pathum Wan, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Phra Nakhon, Phasi Charoen, Yan Nawa, Rat Burana, Lat Phrao, Samphanthawong, Sathon, and Nong Khaem.

District directors in the remaining 29 districts will continue to carry out their duties under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act and related regulations.
