American Fair Brings US Culture to Hat Yai

The U.S. Mission in Thailand is set to host the country’s first American Fair at Prince of Songkla University’s Hat Yai Campus from September 4 to 6, celebrating 250 years of American independence and the longstanding relationship between the United States and Thailand. The three-day event will feature live music, competitions, performances, and cultural activities, with free admission.

The fair will kick off on Friday (Sep 4) at the university’s Activity Dome, or Rong Chang, with the Yamaha Choir performing Take Me Home, Country Roads, and other songs, followed by live band and solo performances by Queen on Street. Friday’s activities will run from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Saturday’s program, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., will feature a spelling bee competition and live jazz by the SKRU Big Band from Songkhla Rajabhat University. Visitors will have opportunities to experience American culture through music, entertainment, and educational activities.

The fair will conclude Sunday (Sep 6) with a dance competition, street art workshop, and hip-hop performance by the Prince of Songkla University Dancing Club. Activities will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., concluding three days of events celebrating American history, culture, and innovation in Hat Yai.
