The Khao Lak Underwater Learning Park Project in Phang Nga Province resulted from the collaboration of numerous sectors, including the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Phang Nga Province, the Royal Thai Navy, the Khao Lak Conservation Foundation, and related parties who started the diving attraction project under the direction of His Majesty the King of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and declared an area where sculptures can be placed.
Therefore, to conserve coral reefs and marine life so that they are healthy and sustainable, artificial corals were brought to be placed as a wall around, including weapons, abandoned cars, Tor 13 boats, Andaman lotus sculptures, Harley Davidson motorcycles arranged as diving spots, and build a marine tourism landmark and a new undersea learning center.
Later, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana ordered the Department of the Marine and Coastal Service to bring it under the project to conserve coral and marine life under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana. The Department of Marines and Coastal Affairs has responded to His Majesty’s initiative to be included under the plan for the conservation of Thai seas and coral reefs starting from 2019 until now.
This is also a diving spot that has recently gained attention from tourists, especially the beauty and exotic of the underwater scenery that has been made into an artificial coral reef.
