Medical benefits not covered by migrant workers' health insurance

       Even after health check-ups and health insurance are taken care of, there are still diseases and conditions that are not covered for foreign workers who are in the social security system and who have already taken out health insurance, which guides the operation of health insurance for aliens and migrant workers. The Ministry of Public Health has stated that medical benefits that are not covered are as follows:

1. Psychiatric disorders;

2. Treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts and narcotics, according to the law on narcotics;

3. Car accident victims. According to the law on the protection of victims from car accidents, they must be compensated for preliminary damages at the rate prescribed by law first. The surplus will be protected by this fund;

4. Victim or illness from work that can be withdrawn under the law on compensation and the law on occupational and environmental diseases, as prescribed by the Department of Disease Control;

5. Infertility treatment;

6. Artificial insemination;

7. Sex reassignment surgery;

8. Any beauty or purely cosmetic procedures without medical indication;

9. Diagnosis and treatment of any excess and medical indications;

10. The same disease that requires a period of hospitalization in an in-patient category for more than 180 days, except if it is necessary to continue treatment due to complications or medical indications;
11. An experimental treatment;

12. Treatment of patients with end-stage renal failure, in all cases;

13. Organ replacement or transplantation;

14. Devices or artificial organs that are not included in the benefits package;

15. Making dentures;

16. Diseases that bar a person from staying in the Kingdom, according to the law on immigration. If it is later found that there was a period of symptoms or prohibited characteristics, the person must be sent back to their country of origin;

17. In the event of a problem with benefits and coverage of medical services, the Sub-Committee on Benefits will consider and propose to the Board of Directors for further consideration and opinion.
