The VAT Registration Certificate is of paramount importance for entrepreneurs, as establishing a company to conduct various business operations must be done properly. One of those steps is registering for VAT. According to the law, the details for VAT registration are as follows:
- Once the officer receives the VAT registration request form (Por Por 01) with all required documents, a VAT registration certificate (Por Por 20) will be issued. This makes the business operator a legally registered operator from the date specified in the VAT registration certificate onwards.
- In cases where the business operator has multiple business locations, they should submit a VAT registration request at the location where the head office is situated. However, the Revenue Department will issue a VAT registration certificate (Por Por 20) for every business location. The registered business operator must display this certificate in a visible place at each respective location.
- If the VAT Registration Certificate is lost, damaged, or significantly deteriorated, the registered business operator must request a substitute VAT registration certificate at the place where VAT has been registered within 15 days from the day they become aware of the loss, damage, or deterioration. The request must be made at the local, branch, or large business tax office, depending on the situation.
To request the right to register for VAT (Por Por 01.1), one set of 3 copies should be submitted along with the VAT registration request (Por Por 01). The business operator should submit the right to register for VAT (Por Por 01.1) request, one set of 3 copies, along with the VAT registration request (Por Por 01).
The documents required to request a replacement VAT registration certificate include:
- A request form for a replacement VAT registration certificate (Por Por 04) - 3 copies
- The damaged VAT registration certificate (Por Por 20)
- A loss notification form
- Power of Attorney letter in case another person is designated to act on the applicant's behalf, duly affixed with a 10-baht revenue stamp
- Identification cards of both the authorizer and the authorized person, along with photocopies of the aforementioned documents.
