Procedures and channels for applying for permission to shoot foreign films in national parks, in the case of several-day filming with animals involved

     The procedures and duration for applications for permission to shoot foreign films in national parks in the case of several-day filming, such as movies or television dramas, with animals involved (application for filming permission of movie, video, documentary, or photography) are as follows:

  1. Submit documents: The service user prepares the supporting documents for permission by filing at the Department of Tourism, which will consider granting permission for filming before submitting the application to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation in the case of filming, television series, documentary filming, TV commercials, and music videos. In the case of news and still photography, applicants should submit documents directly to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation; ;
  2. The officer examines the completeness and accuracy of all documents and signs to register the application when the documents are complete and correct (1 hour);
  3. To pass the consideration procedure, the filming content and format must not be contrary to the Thailand National Parks Act B.E. 2562 (2019), which forbids damaging natural resources and the environment, and it must not be contrary to good morals (6 hours);
  4. The Director General or the person assigned by the Director General signs the permit according to the committee resolution (1 working day);
  5. The result of consideration is sent to the Department of Tourism and the applicant is notified to pay the fee, before being allowed to film in the national park.
