The food production industry in Thailand has set three goals to support the BCG economy:
Goal 1. To increase competitiveness, support the country's economic growth, increase the GDP of the food industry by 300,000 million baht, and have the proportion of food GDP increase from 4% to 5% (from 638,000 million baht to 906,000 million baht) in 2024;
Goal 2. To reduce inequality, enhance the quality of life of the people, and increase employment in the industry in order to provide people with access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food year-round;
Goal 3. To improve the food industry’s sustainability, reduce food loss from 30% currently to 15% in 2024 and 10% in 2030, and promote environmentally friendly food production throughout the supply chain.
