Seven biker-friendly tourist routes near Bangkok - Suan Phueng, Ratchaburi

Nestled amidst the serene Tanaosi mountains and vibrant green forests, Suan Phueng in Ratchaburi, has rightly earned its popularity among tourists. The foggy mornings and the incredible atmosphere here have led to it being often dubbed as the 'Switzerland of Thailand'. With its blend of agricultural, natural, and cultural attractions, Suan Phueng offers an exquisite depiction of the local lifestyle.

For those who crave a little adventure, the location is perfect. Being less than 200 kilometers from Bangkok, it is an ideal weekend trip destination for bikers. The journey, which could be covered in a leisurely 2-3 hour ride, is in itself an experience worth having.

One of the first places to visit in Suan Phueng is Thailand's first and only Alpaca breeding farm. The farm provides a unique opportunity to interact with these fluffy creatures as they play around in the bright green grasslands. Not only can you watch them in their playful moods, but also have a wonderful time feeding these rare animals.

Next on the list is the Hin Khao Ngu Park, another must-visit destination. This park, located on the hillside of Koh Plubpla, houses a cave filled with significant religious relics. Here, you will find Buddha images attached to the cave walls, including sandstone Buddha statues from the Ayutthaya era. The radiant Buddha in the Ascetic Snake Mountain, with its Dvaravati period Buddhist art, is another attraction that should not be missed.

For the true adventurers, Khao Krachom, located near the Border Patrol Police's base, awaits. Standing 1,000 meters above sea level, the mountain provides an unmissable view of the sea mist, a sight that can rival those of the northern peaks. Climbing up the mountain in the morning to catch the sunrise and the sea mist is a thrilling experience. The path is filled with lush forests and the scenic Red Cliff Waterfall. You can also spot rare orchids, adding an extra touch of nature to your adventure.

Last but not least, is the Kao Bin Cave. Nestled on Kao Bin Mountain, in the Hinkong sub-district of the capital district of Ratchaburi, this cave is often considered one of the most beautiful in the region. The cave, which consists of 8 chambers, each with a catchy local nickname, is a popular attraction. The highlight of the cave is a stalactite resembling a large bird about to take flight, which inspired the name Kao Bin Cave.
