Agrotourism – Plant Thai Plant Farm, Loei Province
The “farm-stay” tourism trend has gained attention from both Thai and foreign tourists, as it allows them to fully immerse themselves in nature and learn about sustainable agriculture, while also being budget-friendly. In Thailand, there are now more and more farm-stays, such as the Plant Thai Farm, which is a member of the agrotourism community enterprise group, Phuluang District, Loei Province.
The Plant Thai Farm is an integrated farm that mainly grows dragon fruit for sale and for personal consumption. It also offers homestay accommodations with three houses that are suitable for visiting during the winter and rainy seasons. The price per person is only 350 baht, including breakfast.
Aside from absorbing the atmosphere surrounded by nature and learning about sustainable agriculture, there are also many activities for tourists to participate in, such as making traditional ovens, joining in the Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony, which is a local northeastern Thai custom, and cooking traditional Thai dishes such as Pa Laeng (indigenous dinner). It is a simple diet, using only what is available in the community or in the fields.
