Koh Kradad, Trat Province

       Koh Kradad is the perfect destination for a family vacation or a romantic getaway if you’re looking for a secluded, relaxing island.

       Koh Kradad is a small island in the Gulf of Thailand, located in Trat Province’s Koh Kood District and covering an area of about 1,113 rai (nearly 1.8 sq km), only 2 kilometers long and 1.2 kilometers in width. The nature of the island is as flat as paper, without high mountains like the other islands. The island’s name likely comes from the abundance of bon-looking plank trees found there. The fact that this is yet another of Trat’s islands contributes to its fame as part of “Amazing Thailand,” which is what really matters.

       There are nearly a hundred deer that roam free here, adding to the natural beauty of the clear blue sea and beautiful yellow sand. Thirty to forty years ago, there were only a few dozen deer in the area, but thanks to their release from zoos, there are now hundreds.

       The island of Koh Kradad has a pier at one end, which separates it into two distinct areas. Villagers’ homes and several convenience stores can be seen. The other area is the beach, where you can go swimming in the water near Koh Nok Nai, Koh Nok Nork, and Koh Chu.

      Since Koh Kradad Resort controls access to this island, anyone who wishes to set foot here must either purchase an accommodation package or hire a boat from the locals. It’s best to visit Koh Kradad between the months of October and May, when the waves are smaller.
