“Beautiful culture,” a reason foreigners like Thailand

Thailand is unique in its beautiful and diverse culture. This can be seen from the survey results and rankings of world-class agencies and media. In 2021, the Asian SEA Story Facebook fanpage ranked Thailand number 1 for having the best cultural heritage in ASEAN, based on cultural accessibility opportunities, cultural attractions, and more, and this is the identity of Thai culture in various fields that foreigners are fond of.

       - Songkran Festival - The Thai tradition of splashing water on Songkran Day has become a world-renowned festival with a fun atmosphere. People organize Songkran festivals at various locations, making the period from 13 to 15 April of every year the main target week for many foreign tourists. However, Songkran traditions such as bathing Buddha images, pouring scented water on the hands of revered elders, and entering a temple to make merit are still the charming activities of the Thai people, who continue to practice the gentler side of the festival and pass it on from generation to generation.

       - Thai food - The cuisine is a famous and internationally recognized feature of national culture because, in addition to being one of the favorites in terms of taste, Thai food also reflects the lifestyle and culture of each locality that is unique and diverse.

       - Thai temples - Temples are places that bring together various aspects of Thai culture in abundance, such as folk beliefs, religion, sculpture, painting, and architecture, because in the past, Thailand’s temples were the center of communities and the people.

       - Thai handicrafts - Culture is transmitted through various handicrafts, many of which are recognized and sought after by foreigners because of their refinement, value, and beauty, and they clearly reflect and represent the way of life of the Thai people, such as Thai fabrics, Thai ceramics, wickerwork, nielloware, pottery, and many more.
