The importation of donated goods requires the following customs clearance procedures:
1. The importers must submit an application for customs clearance for the donated goods and a letter notifying the results of the customs duty exemption of the donated goods under Category 11 Part 4, where the Customs Department has already approved the duty exemption with supporting documents for submission of import declarations at the Customs Office/ Customs House where the goods are imported with supporting documents.
2. The importers or their agents prepare and submit import declaration information and take the inbound goods declaration for customs clearance to get the goods out of customs custody.
In the case of donations that are restricted items:
- For any donated goods required by law to be imported into or exported out of the Kingdom or brought through the Kingdom, permission or complete compliance is required prior to importation from the responsible agency as stipulated by law.
- Food products, cosmetics, and medical devices, an import permit from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is required prior to importation into the Kingdom by filing an import form at the food and drug checkpoint.
