Traveling by train is another popular way of travel for both Thai and foreign tourists because certain routes and stations are tourist attractions, photo spots, or have a variety of local dishes. This makes traveling more fascinating and opens up new experiences.
The State Railway of Thailand recommends 12 popular train routes that should not be missed:
1. On the Eastern Railway (Ban Phlu Luang), there is a special excursion train, No. 997 / 998 Bangkok - Ban Phlu Ta Luang, 2nd Class, departing at 6:45 a.m., available only on Saturdays and Sundays;
2. The Northeastern Railway (Nong Khai) has a special express train known as “Isan Mankha,” No. 25 / 26, Bangkok - Nong Khai, 1st and 2nd classes;
3. The Northeastern Railway (Nong Khai) has a "diesel rail” express train, 75 / 76 Bangkok - Nong Khai, 2nd Class and air-conditioned;
4. On the Northeastern Railway (Ubon Ratchathani), there is a special express train, “Esan Watthana,” No. 23 / 24 Bangkok - Ubon Ratchathani, 1st and 2nd classes;
5. The Northeastern Railway (Ubon Ratchathani) has a special express train, No. 67 / 68 Bangkok - Ubon Ratchathani, 1st and 2nd classes;
6. The Southern Railway has a special express train, called "Thaksinarat," No. 31 / 32 Bangkok - Hat Yai Junction, 1st and 2nd classes;
7. The Southern Railway also has a special express train, No. 37 / 38 Bangkok - Su-ngai Kolok, 1st and 2nd classes;

10. On the Northern Railway, there is a special express train, "Utra Withi," No. 9 / 10 Bangkok - Chiang Mai, 1st and 2nd classes (departing from Krungthep Aphiwat Central Terminal);
