Documents for 5-Year Non-Immigrant O-X Long Stay Visa Application

        Foreigners wishing to stay in Thailand for a long time with a 5-year Non-immigrant "O-X" visa, must prepare supporting documents for the application, and the remaining validity on their current visa must be more than 15 days. In case of overstay, an application is not allowed.

The supporting documents for the application are as follows:

1. TM.89 application form;

2. Copy of passport (validity of more than 15 days; in case of overstay, an application is not allowed);

3. One photograph size 4x6 cm or 2 inches;

4. Visa application fee 10,000 baht;

5. Financial documents (either 5.1 or 5.2):

5.1) Passbook and certificate of balance from a bank in Thailand: a copy of the passbook which shows fixed deposit balance of not less than 3,000,000 baht in a Thai commercial bank account located in Thailand; or

5.2) Passbook and certificate of balance from a bank in Thailand: a copy of the passbook which shows a fixed deposit balance of not less than 1,800,000 baht in a Thai commercial bank account located in Thailand and documents which show annual income of not less than 1,200,000 baht. 


6. Certificate of good conduct or police clearance certificate from the country of which the foreigner holds nationality, and if the foreigner has a permanent residence in another country, such documents are also required from the country in which the foreigner has permanent residence (certified by the Embassy of Foreigners in Thailand and Legal Affairs Division, the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand);

7. Thai health insurance policy (as specified by the OIC) with an insured amount in the case of OPD not less than 40,000 baht and in the case of IPD not less than 400,000 baht;

8. Medical certificate from the country where the application is submitted that shows that the applicant does not have any disease that is prohibited by the Ministerial Regulation No. 14, 1992, which includes:

    • Leprosy;
    • Tuberculosis;
    • Elephantiasis;
    • Drug addiction;
    • Third phase of syphilis.

9. In the case of marriage, a marriage certificate is required along with the documents specified in items 1-8 (separately);

10. In the case of a child, a birth certificate/ adoption certification document is required (for legitimate children) along with the documents specified in item 7 (policy), items 1-4 and item 6;

11. If the documents specified in items 9-10 are in a foreign language, they must be translated into Thai or English and certified by the Embassy of Foreigners in Thailand and Legal Affairs Division, the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand;

12. Other relevant documents which show evidence of a house lease agreement or certificate from the landlord with a copy of house registration, his/her ID card and certified copy by the landlord or a sales and purchase agreement, house registration, a map of the house or condominium unit, and the receipt of house rent for the past 3 months. 


Important notes:

1. The applicant must proceed in person, sign, and certify every page of the documents for a quick and convenient process.

2. Please bring complete documents and submit all original documents to the competent officer.

3. The applicant must notify his/her status of residence according to Section 38 together with evidence of a residential notification.

4. One copy set of the documents (according to the list of documents No. 1, 2, 9, 10 and No. 12).
