Foreigners entering Thailand must apply for a visa to meet the purpose of their visit. A diplomatic visa is for diplomatic passport or red UN Laissez-Passer holders visiting Thailand for official purposes or to be posted in Thailand and for official duties or activities on behalf of their national government or international organization. Upon official request, Thai embassies and consulates-general may grant visas to diplomatic or official passport holders who wish to assume duties at a foreign diplomatic mission or consulate or international organization in the Kingdom, and to their family members.
Supporting documents are a Note Verbal and/or documents issued by the foreign government or international organization, certifying the identity of the person concerned and their purposes while residing in the Kingdom.
Diplomatic visas are granted without a fee. The duration of staying in Thailand may not exceed 90 days per time.
