Application for change of visa type of foreigners - Monk's education (Code ED)

        Monks who want to travel to Thailand for education must apply for or request to change the type of visa by selecting the topic of the monk's education visa (Code ED) with the following supporting documents:

1. TM.86 only for foreigners who have Tourist Visa or Transit Visa to change the type of visa, or TM.87 form only for foreigners who do not have a visa but are allowed to stay in the kingdom, and P.30, PP.30 and PP.90 to apply for a visa.    

2. Copy of passport (such as personal information page, entry stamp, residence permit stamp (if any)), and departure card (TM.6).     

3. 1 4X6 cm. or 2-inch photo.    

4. Fee of 2,000 baht.

5. Confirmation letter from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University or Mahamakut Buddhist College for obtaining or changing the type of visa (Attention: Commander-in-Chief of the Immigration Office).

6. Certificate of residence from the abbot who provides residence (to Immigration Office Commander.     

7. Monk certificate. (If it is in a foreign language, it must be translated into Thai.)   

8. A copy of the applicant's academic qualifications, along with the tuition fee receipt. 

9. A copy of the license to be an administrator, manager, principal and director of an educational institution, a copy of the license to establish an educational institution.

        However, permission will be granted for no more than 90 days, provided that the applicant has more than 15 days remaining. If an applicant is overstaying, an application cannot be filed. In addition, the applicant must come to do it in person every time, with a notification of residence according to section 38, together with evidence of a residence notification. All pages of documents must be signed  by the applicant to certify. Documents must be in the name of the applicant alone, and all original documents must be submitted to the competent official.
