Thailand's Investment Surge in 2024 : Foreign Interest Soars with 636 New Investments Worth Over 130 Billion Baht

In the first nine months of 2024 (January-September), Thailand attracted significant interest from foreign investors, authorizing 636 new foreign investments with a total value of 134.805 billion baht, marking a 60% increase from the same period last year. This positive indicator highlights Thailand’s strong potential for attracting foreign investment.

Top Five Foreign Investors :

  • Japan : 157 investments, 74.091 billion baht, accounting for 25% of the total investment
  • Singapore : 96 investments, 12.222 billion baht, 15% of total investment
  • China : 89 investments, 11.981 billion baht, 14% of total investment
  • United States : 86 investments, 4.147 billion baht, 13% of total investment
  • Hong Kong : 46 investments, 14.116 billion baht, 7% of total investment

Investments span multiple key sectors, with rapid growth particularly noted in platform and software development in Thailand.

Additionally, foreign investors are highly interested in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), where investments have increased by 10% from last year. The EEC investments this year total 39.830 billion baht, representing 30% of overall investments, with major contributions from Japan (13.191 billion baht), China (7.227 billion baht), and Hong Kong (5.219 billion baht).

Foreign investment in Thailand reflects strong confidence in the country’s potential, supported by key factors such as robust infrastructure, abundant resources, and investor-ready industries. The Thai government remains committed to exploring new investment markets and fostering sustainable growth in domestic investment.
