The government has launched "TouristDigiPay," the country’s first financial sandbox system allowing international tourists to convert digital assets into Thai baht for easy spending.

• Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum
• Various Stablecoins
• Other certified digital tokens

📱 How It Works:

• Connect through participating providers’ digital wallets
• Instant conversion to baht without opening a Thai bank account
• Pay via QR code at shops nationwide

🔒 Security Measures:

• Strict KYC and CDD procedures
• Oversight by the Anti-Money Laundering Office and the Securities and Exchange Commission
• Merchants receive baht with no risk

This 18-month pilot program will be evaluated for efficiency and feasibility before deciding on long-term expansion. It’s supported by four key agencies aiming to enhance Thai tourism and attract foreign investment.
