Thailand Responds to Global Key Issues Using the Principles of Reduction, Carbon Sequestration, and Carbon Offset to Mitigate Climate Change Impacts

Climate change is becoming a significant global issue that requires cooperation from all countries to address. Thailand aims to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050 to help reduce the environmental and economic impacts caused by climate change. To reach this goal, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions released into the atmosphere must equal to the amount that is sequestered.

The three principles that will help Thailand achieve carbon neutrality are :

1. Reduction : This involves reducing carbon dioxide emissions by decreasing the use of fossil fuels and increasing the use of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind energy.
2. Carbon Sequestration : This principle focuses on absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through activities like reforestation, forest conservation, and utilizing Carbon Capture technologies to reduce atmospheric carbon levels.
3. Carbon Offset : This involves compensating carbon emissions from various activities by purchasing carbon credits.

The success of achieving carbon neutrality relies on cooperation from all sectors, including government, private organizations, and citizens. By applying the three principles of Reduction, Carbon Sequestration, and Carbon Offset, Thailand aims to mitigate climate change impacts and create sustainability for both the planet and society moving forward.
