PRD Thailand Shares Views on Media's Role in Connecting People at the ASEAN Plus Three Media Cooperation Forum

Representatives from Thailand's Government Public Relations Department (PRD) took part in the 12th ASEAN Plus Three Media Cooperation Forum. The forum was held on the second day of the 2026 Media Cooperation on Belt and Road in Fujian Province, China.

Media representatives from ASEAN countries, China, and South Korea discussed media cooperation in two panels:
■ Promoting Mutual Learning among Civilizations and People-to-People Connectivity
■ Deepening Economic and Trade Cooperation for Digital Intelligence Opportunities

● Panel 1:
PRD Thailand exchanged views on media’s role in fostering mutual understanding among people by projecting stories of people, livelihoods, and societies. The PRD also proposed taking cooperation further, from content exchange to co-production, which will further promote people-to-people relations in international communities.

● Panel 2:
Panelists discussed how digital economic development can improve people’s lives through cross-border payment, e-commerce, and digital infrastructure. Digital technology also helps the media reach more people, share information and culture more easily, and fight fake news and misinformation.

PRD Thailand remains committed to working with regional partners to build understanding, share stories, and strengthen ties among the people of ASEAN and East Asia.
