Stay Informed about the New Regulations! The Ministry's Regulations on Alcohol Testing for the Year 2024 aim for Safety on the Roads.

On September 20, 2024, the Royal Gazette published the announcement of the Ministry's regulations on testing blood alcohol levels in drivers for 2024, which includes revisions and the repeal of some old laws to make the regulations stricter and more modern, responding to current situations. The details are as follows :

  • esting Method : To determine whether a driver is intoxicated, the blood alcohol content will be measured using a breath analyzer. If testing via breath is not possible, urine or blood tests may be conducted, but only with the driver's consent.
  • Testing Criteria : Drivers under 20 years old will be considered intoxicated if their blood alcohol level exceeds 20 mg percent, while the general threshold for other drivers is set at 50 mg percent.

Nevertheless, there will still be a campaign urging citizens not to drive after consuming alcoholic beverages (Don't Drink and Drive) to prevent accidents and reduce potential life losses.
