World Class Destination: 2025 Goal to Drive Thailand as a Global Tourism Hub

Recently, Mr. Sarawut Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, chaired a meeting at Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok, to exchange ideas on developing Thailand into a world-class destination. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

During the event, Mr. Sarawut shared his vision to boost the tourism economy under the "IGNITE THAILAND’s TOURISM" policy, emphasizing the promotion of private sector investment. He also focused on ensuring the development of tourist attractions and attracting world-class events to Thailand.

Efforts to push the tourism market will cover both domestic and international sectors through various activities such as the Thailand Winter Festival and the promotion of responsible tourism. The "Soft Power of Thailand" concept will be employed to add value to the tourism industry. TAT plans to generate travel demand across the country’s five regions while promoting sustainable travel. The strategy also includes enhancing tourism through increased local airport flights to provide convenience to tourists.

With the goal of attracting both domestic and international tourists, Thailand aims to become a "World Class Destination," appealing to visitors year-round, especially during the high season of 2025.
