Soaring Faith into the Skies: Boon Bang Fai Talai Lan 2026

Experience one of Isan’s most precious cultural heritages: the Boon Bang Fai (Rocket Festival). This ancient ritual is performed to worship Phaya Thaen (the God of Rain), inviting seasonal rains for a bountiful harvest.

While rocket festivals are celebrated across Northeast Thailand, the Kudwa community—home to the ethnic Phu Thai people—offers a unique spectacle: the "Bang Fai Talai Lan." Unlike traditional cylindrical rockets, these circular, wheel-like rockets spin majestically into the sky. It is a stunning display of local wisdom and a symbol of identity preserved through generations.
