SACIT showcases Thai arts and crafts at the Royal Thai Dress Exhibition in Paris

The Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT) showcased Thai arts and crafts at the “Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity” exhibition at the MAD museum (Musée des Arts Décoratifs) in Paris, the French Republic. The exhibition is being held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to commemorate the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France.

The exhibition was organized into seven galleries that featured more than 200 exhibits with showcases of Thailand’s rich textile heritage, traditional craftsmanship, royal attire, and contemporary fashion design. Highlights also included the eight officially recognized styles of Thai national dress or Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom, the first ever display of the Royal Dress of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother outside Thailand, royal garments from the Thai Royal Family, and collections showing traditional weaving, embroidery, and decorative crafts.

SACIT also offers demonstrations of two important types of embroidery—"Thai traditional embroidery" and "Multi-Technique European Embroidery," where visitors can experience the creative process firsthand and learn more about sustainable development and conservation of local Thai arts and crafts under the vision of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. For those who are interested, the exhibition is open to the public from now until November 1, 2026.
