The annual Phimai Festival promotes tourism and showcases the local art and culture of Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The event is held in the second week of November each year, lasting for five days and five nights. This year, it is scheduled on November 6-10, at the Phimai Historical Park along the Chakkarat River and the entrance to Phimai Stone Sanctuary.
Visitors can enjoy multimedia lights and sound performances narrating the history of the Phimai Historical Park, as well as an ancient-style market offering local goods, regional foods, and community-made products. The event’s highlight is the traditional longboat races competing for the royal trophy, known as the largest traditional boat race in northeastern Thailand. Other attractions include folk art performances, concerts, sports competitions, and various recreational activities.
The Phimai Festival provides an excellent opportunity for both tourists and locals to experience and appreciate the beauty of traditional culture, while immersing in the vibrant atmosphere of tourism in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
