NIA Expands Global Innovation Network Through South Korea Partnerships to Boost Thai Startups and International Growth

Thailand is strengthening its position in the global innovation landscape through new strategic partnerships with leading South Korean innovation organizations aimed at expanding opportunities for Thai startups and technology entrepreneurs. The National Innovation Agency (NIA), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (GCCEI) in Seoul.

The agreement seeks to deepen innovation and technology cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea while creating new pathways for business growth and international collaboration. The partnership will focus on key initiatives including business matching, investor network connections, and support for entrepreneurs seeking access to new markets. These efforts are expected to help Thai startups strengthen their competitiveness and accelerate international expansion. During the visit, NIA Governor Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng and Deputy Governor for Innovation Finance Dr. Suraarth Suphachaturas also held discussions with Mr. Jong-pil Yoo, President of the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development (KISED).

The meeting explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, startup ecosystem development, and future cooperation mechanisms to support entrepreneurs in both countries. The collaboration with GCCEI represents an important milestone in expanding Thailand’s innovation network globally, enabling Thai innovators to gain greater access to technology, investment, expertise, and strategic business partners from South Korea. The initiative forms part of NIA’s broader strategy to connect Thailand’s innovation ecosystem with international markets and reinforce the country’s ambition to become a regional innovation hub. The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for Thai startups while strengthening innovation-driven economic growth and international competitiveness.
