Communication system for tourists

Find functions that meet your needs, mobile networks and packages that tourists should know.

When traveling abroad, equipment and communication systems are especially important to pay attention to, especially when buying a SIM card from that country to enable internet access and calls for business or family whether it's a connection in the country or between countries. Let's get to know the Thai telephone network system and choosing the right package, which will be another option to respond to the need of use.

For Thailand, SIM cards of all sizes are available for tourists staying in Thailand for less than a week. Activating the telephone and internet network at the airport is another convenient and time-saving option as there are operator counters at the airport.  They will focus on selling internet, calling and messaging packages that are tailored for short-term travelers.

As for tourists who stay in Thailand for a long time, they should directly contact the service provider's store to purchase a package that is suitable for their use. Generally, purchasing a SIM card requires a user's passport to register with their name and passport number.

When choosing a service provider and usage package, Thailand has 3 main mobile network service providers: AIS, DTAC and TrueMove H. The usage package includes both  Daily, weekly and monthly packages tailored to suit each traveler's varying itinerary. Topping up a Thai SIM card is easy and convenient, which can be done at minimarts and operator outlets across the country. Users can check the balance and remaining time by dialing the code of each network and making a call.

Codes for checking balance and remaining days of each network are as follows:

AIS: *121#

DTAC: *101*9#

TrueMove H: #123#
