Conditions and scope of being a certified agent for foreigners submitting long-term stay applications

        Thailand remains a country that has piqued the interest of potential foreign workers to come work and stay in the long term, thanks in part to the government’s various measures to attract foreign workers. One of them is to encourage the private sector to act as an agent in facilitating the service of applying for a long-term resident visa under the terms and scope of work outlined below.


1. Must begin providing screening services to foreign clients and LTR visa holders within 90 days of accreditation;

2. Must provide services as an agent in submitting an application to the SEC Office in accordance with the SEC Office’s rules, conditions, and procedures, which may include the following:

     - Providing assistance, preparing, scrutinizing, or acting on behalf of foreigners in submitting applications with supporting documentation;

     - Coordination of relevant government agencies and other organizations to facilitate matters pertaining to the granting of permission under the Immigration Law and the Aliens Employment Management Law.

3. Provide quality, standard, and satisfactory services or facilities to foreigners living or working in Thailand;

4. Provide staff and employees with manuals or standards of conduct, as well as details of procedures, methods of providing services, and fees for providing services that are clear to service users;

5. Staff or employees with knowledge and expertise in visa and work permit or immigration services must operate with skill and expertise, which must be appropriate to the number of clients in order to provide services quickly and efficiently. Employees’ knowledge, ability, and expertise, on the other hand, must be developed on a regular basis;

6. There must be an information technology system that manages the service recipient’s database, which must store and maintain documents, evidence, and data in any form related to the submission of the request on the information system, which can be prepared and compiled into statistical reports as requested by the Office and in accordance with the law on personal data protection;

7. Support and work with government agencies involved in attracting and publicizing foreigners;

8. Report performance and problems and/or obstacles that have arisen and/or are expected to arise every 90 days, or earlier if necessary;

9. Every year from the date of approval, the employees must pass a performance appraisal based on the criteria established by the Office.
