One of the major infrastructure initiatives of the Eastern Special Development Zone (EEC) is the development of U-Tapao Airport and Eastern Aviation City, with the goal of making it the “The Third Main Commercial International Airport” by connecting U-Tapao Airport with Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport with high-speed trains, the three airports will be able to handle up to 200 million passengers annually.
A total of 290 billion baht was invested in the project, which is a cooperative effort between the public and commercial sectors. The aim is to be “The Center of the Tourism Industry, Logistics & Aviation” as well as the “Center of the Eastern Aviation Metropolis,” which includes the establishment of a center for business growth.
An airport development within an area of over 6,500 rai located in Phala Sub-district, Ban Chang District, Rayong Province. It aims to accommodate at least 60 million passengers annually and will invest in a variety of areas covering all dimensions, including commercial airport services, business continuity development, and the aviation industry covering an additional 30 km of surrounding areas in order to create an environment that encourages domestic and international private sectors to increase investment into the EEC region and to meet future air travel demands.

4. Cargo Village or Free Trade Zone.
