Green industry benefits

Green industry benefits

      Operators in the “green industry” sector contribute to a positive image and attitude toward the environmentally friendly industry, as well as a positive understanding and acceptance between the industry and the surrounding community. By emphasizing the green issues of products and manufacturing processes that are becoming accepted and desired by consumers worldwide, we can reduce resource and energy consumption, save business costs, and create competitive opportunities, including market opportunities.

Green industries are divided into five levels of integration:

Level 1 – Green Commitment;

Level 2 – Green Activity;

Level 3 – Green System;

Level 4 – Green Culture;

Level 5 – Green Network.

      Green industries receive a variety of benefits, including a five-year exemption from annual fees, the requirement that conditions be certified at the level of environmental management (TIS 14001 or ISO 14001), as well as meeting standards for management systems for occupational health and safety (TIS 18001).

      Annual fee waiver for 5 years are offered, with the condition that waste or leftover materials from the operation be used to produce biogas as an alternative energy source and bring exhaust air from combustion in the entire manufacturing process to be reused.

      Investment promotion, exemption of import duty on machinery, exemption of corporate income tax for 8 years, and income tax deduction are other benefits. Companies may apply for BOI promotion on the condition that there is an investment in the group of energy-saving and renewable energy activities, as well as an investment in the group of environmentally friendly manufacturing materials and products.

      Investment promotion can be given by exempting import duty on machinery, exempting corporate income tax for 3 years, and reducing income tax upon applying for BOI promotion according to conditions. The business should propose an investment plan to modify machinery to save energy, use renewable energy, or reduce environmental impact by deploying modern technology to reduce energy consumption by the specified proportion, use renewable energy by the specified proportion, and reduce environmental impact by reducing the amount of waste, wastewater, or air, depending on the specified criteria.

      Furthermore, entrepreneurs who participate in the green industry project receive indirect benefits, such as publicizing the success of developing a green industry, using the commercial green industry logo, and participating in the formulation of policy by the Ministry of Industry and network agencies.

      Further benefits include Green Loan, low-interest loans for green industry projects; listing in the Green Directory, a list of entrepreneurs with environmentally friendly production and environmentally friendly products; Green Procurement is supported by the government by implementing green procurement, stimulating the market for green products; and Green Consumption raises awareness of green consumption and promulgation.
