Procedures for Registering as a Maritime Transport Operator

    When those who want to do maritime shipping business and apply for registration as a maritime transport operator with complete and correct documents according to the conditions, the Marine Department will carry out the process of registering the company as a maritime transport operator. The details are as follows:

  1. Entrepreneurs submit an application for registration as a maritime transport operator, together with evidence documents that certify their accuracy, and the officer checks the accuracy and completeness of the evidence documents. The officer registers the request, in accordance with the administrative system, and evaluates the request.  Then, the officer proposes it to the Director of the Maritime Regulatory Division.
  2. The Director of the Maritime Regulatory Division presents it to the registrar (Director-General of the Marine Department) to consider signing the certificate of registration as a maritime transport operator, including a competent official's order.
  3. The registrar signs the important letters – the registration as a maritime transport operator and the orders of officials – and returns the request to the Maritime Regulatory Division, in order for the officer to notify the applicant of the result.
