5 Gulf of Thailand Destinations to Visit During the Rainy Season - 2. Sairee Beach, Chumphon

When speaking of key landmark destinations in Chumphon Province, Sairee Beach is undoubtedly a must-visit place. This beach is popular to the point that a trip to Chumphon would seem incomplete without a visit.

Sairee Beach, located in Sairee sub-district, Mueang Chumphon district, is characterized by its long and crescent-shaped sandy beach, resembling a slender moon. The sea is clean, and the gentle slope of the beach is perfect for water activities. Furthermore, the beach is the location of the memorial site of Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the founder of the Royal Thai Navy, a place respected and venerated by the public. From Sairee Beach, one can see "Coconut Island," a small island not far from the shore, serving as a nesting site for the Bridled Tern. Visitors can go to the island's beaches. Around the island, there are complete and beautiful coral reefs, which can be accessed by hiring a boat from the Chumphon Archipelago National Park office located behind Sairee Beach, or from local boats in the Sairee Beach area. Sairee Beach also offers SUP board paddling activities from the beach to the island, an adventure suitable for all genders and ages.
