Holiday destination? Before traveling, click on the cultural calendar

Who among us hasn’t wanted to travel but been at a loss as to where to go, or we could be traveling for work, but when we have some time on our hands, we find ourselves at a loss as to what sights and sounds to take in near where we’re staying because we aren’t familiar with the area?

Now that the Ministry of Culture website has tools that make finding Thailand’s tourist attractions easier, life is simpler and less stressful. Simply enter the month you’re interested in and the phrase “Cultural Calendar,” and you'll be presented with a wide variety of events from which to select, including rituals, ceremonies, and festivals celebrated on a regular basis.

There will be no ambiguity about any of the events, from the day of the event itself to the day, time, location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and social media accounts through which people can get in touch with the organizers.

If you are interested in any activity, just click to see the details at that event. In addition, you can further specify your desired trip by activity type, by clicking the corresponding button in the search bar.

If you’re having trouble deciding, select “All Types,” and then press the options for music, theater/ movies, travel, cuisine/ education, celebrations/ traditions, local performances, exhibitions, Thai cultural products, and handicrafts. Provinces, months, and years can be selected to look for events taking place in a specific time frame.

If you prefer not to look things up yourself, you can sign up for monthly email updates about news and cultural events at the website’s footer by entering your email address and clicking the “Apply for News” button.
