Statistics on tourists visiting Thailand

       Tourists from ASEAN countries are the leading groups of tourists visiting Thailand

       Thailand is one of the most-visited countries in the world. According to the statistics on foreign tourists visiting Thailand, from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) between 1 January and 30 October 2022, it was found that more than 7.56 million tourists arrived in Thailand, with at least 1.5 million expected in the last two months of the year, heading into the traditional high season of November to December, helping Thailand meet its tourist target of attracting 10 million foreign visitors. 

       Most foreign tourists visiting Thailand come from ASEAN countries, particularly Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, followed by Europe, the United States, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa respectively. 

       In 2023, TAT expects up to 30 million tourists to visit Thailand, which includes the millions of potential Chinese tourists who had previously been unable to go overseas due to China’s strict zero-COVID policy – but they are returning in high numbers again.
