Repatriation of detainees

The Immigration Bureau has the authority to detain foreigners who enter the country without permission, stay in the country longer than the permitted period, or commit other offenses which fall within the grounds of being forced to leave the country, and the Office will coordinate relevant matters for repatriation.

To carry out repatriation of detainees to their country of residence, the Immigration Office is responsible for obtaining documents relating to detainees who have already been prosecuted, to prepare for repatriation to their country of residence or to a third country and for recording information of persons who are prohibited from re-entering the Kingdom once repatriated.

The required documents for repatriation  include passport, repatriation application form, air ticket, vehicle fare, and taxes and airport charges, all of which must be submitted at least 1 business day prior to departure.
