Foreign media registration process for working in Thailand

Thailand is a country with great economic, trading, investment, and sports potential. All of these contribute to Thailand’s reputation as a host of international conferences and world sports competitions. In addition to admitting the relevant persons engaged in each activity or event, Thailand allows foreign media to report news and events, as well, on a short-term basis or a yearly basis. In this regard, they are required to apply for permission to work in Thailand legally.

Any foreign media personnel wishing to work in Thailand for a period of three months or longer, or wanting to extend their visa, work permit, and press card, have to register with the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the MMOS (MFA Media Online Service) website, in order to apply for the non-immigrant visa category (Non-M). The website provides information on other necessary documents and procedures enabling them to work in Thailand as accredited members of the media.
