The important day that people across Thailand have been waiting for is approaching! The Royal Barge Procession on October 27, 2024, will feature a magnificent royal journey to present kathin robes by water. Recently, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, visited the site to inspect the operational procedures and readiness of the royal barge procession closely.
During the seventh rehearsal, the Prime Minister observed the practice at the Royal Barge Dock at Wasukri Pier and Wat Arun Ratchawararam. She received a briefing from Admiral Adung Pan-iam, the Commander of the Royal Thai Navy, who emphasized the readiness of the royal barges and the personnel participating in the procession. There have been 10 minor rehearsals, with major rehearsals scheduled for October 15 and 22, to ensure that the procession is as majestic as possible.
The public can watch the rehearsals at various points along the Chao Phraya River and prepare to witness this magnificent historical event soon!
