"Local Thai Cuisine, Eat with Wisdom" - Inviting Every Province to Promote Local Food and Elevate it to Soft Power

The project "Local Thai Cuisine, Eat with Wisdom" is creating a wave in the Thai culinary scene by inviting every province to come together to elevate local cuisine into a form of Soft Power that holds global influence. The project also launched the "Flagging Local Cuisine" logo, which will serve as a tool to promote local food, turning it into a cultural product recognized and accepted worldwide.

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with various partners such as Seven Star Studio Co., Ltd., the producer of the "Chum Tang Hot Show" program, organized a launch event for the project. The event was attended by several distinguished figures, including the Minister of Culture, Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, and the President of the Miracle of Life Foundation, Police Lieutenant Dr. Manat Nonuch. The event featured the unveiling of the logo and the project's theme song, "The Lost Taste," aimed at promoting and developing local cuisine into a cultural heritage and a distinctive Thai identity (Thailand Best Local Food). The song and logo will be used as promotional materials for the project, enabling restaurant operators and communities involved in activities under the project to use them to disseminate information, raise awareness, and encourage public participation in promoting and elevating local cuisine.

Additionally, each province is currently moving forward with selecting "One Province, One Local Dish" for 2024. This initiative aims to revive and develop rare and endangered local dishes from every province into popular ones, thereby generating income and creating economic stability both locally and nationally.

With this project's intention to drive Soft Power through the elevation of local cuisine, it not only preserves the nation's cultural heritage but also indirectly promotes the country's economy. Having each province showcase its unique local dish will help attract both domestic and international tourists to experience distinctive flavors while stimulating the local economy, leading to long-term benefits for the country.
