The Royal Thai Navy, in collaboration with related agencies, is organizing the "Colors and Art Reflections Exhibition in Honor of the Royal Kathin Ceremony by the Royal Barge Procession" from September 27 to October 31, 2024, at Iconlux Avenue, M Floor, ICONSIAM. The exhibition aims to showcase the exquisite heritage of Thai culture, the intricate craftsmanship of artisans, and the grandeur of the Royal Barge Procession, which will take place on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The exhibition includes a display of an 11-meter-long replica of the Suphannahong Royal Barge, along with four other royal barge replicas, illustrations of the 52-barge procession, and stories of the decoration of the royal barges through wood carving, lacquer, gilding, and glass inlay, crafted by skilled artisans. It also features uniforms of the barge commanders, the stern steersmen, and the boatmen, along with a gallery of photos and videos of the 2019 Royal Coronation Barge Procession. Additionally, there is a demonstration of glass inlay decoration by craftsmen from the Fine Arts Department.
The public can visit the “Colors and Art Reflections Exhibition in honor of the Royal Kathin Ceremony by the Royal Barge Procession” for free from September 27 to October 31, 2024, at Iconlux Avenue, M Floor, ICONSIAM.
On October 27, 2024, there will be a live broadcast of the Royal Barge Procession, where His Majesty will travel to Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan to offer the Royal Kathin robes. The public can enjoy this magnificent cultural heritage at ICONSIAM starting from 3:00 PM.
