Foreigners Are Amazed! "Thai Phakhawma": Versatile, Beautifully Patterned, and Multi-Functional

This cloth is a long-standing part of Thai culture and is currently in the process of being proposed for registration as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO. With a history spanning over 900 years, the Phakhawma has evolved in both patterns and functions. It can be used in many ways, such as for bathing, as a mat for sitting, a headscarf for sun protection, or even as a hammock for babies. It is considered a form of "soft power" that promotes Thailand's image on the global stage and contributes to the income of local communities that continue to preserve and pass down traditional weaving techniques.
