Success of the “Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025” Generates Over 1.7 Billion Baht in Economic Impact

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the outstanding success of the “Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025,” held at Sanam Luang, Bangkok. The event generated a total economic turnover of 1.702 billion baht. Attendance across various Songkran 2025 venues throughout the city reached a combined total of 2,883,389 people, including both Thai locals and international tourists. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant at all major event locations.


The top three most popular areas were:

  • Sanam Luang, ranking first with the highest attendance of 1,106,999 people
  • Khao San Road, in second place with 459,737 visitors
  • Silom Road, coming in third with 358,728 attendees

A satisfaction survey revealed that 93.18% of participants rated their experience as very satisfied to extremely satisfied. Meanwhile, local business operators gave a high satisfaction score of 91.31%, reflecting smooth event management and activities that resonated well with attendees.


Highlights of the festival included the “Thainess Iconic” carnival parade featuring eight floats, a spectacular drone show with 1,200 drones titled “Thainess Eternal” and “Guardians of Siam,” cultural performances representing Thailand’s five regions, traditional fairground zones, haunted houses, outdoor cinema, and over 100 food vendors. All these elements showcased Thai cultural identity and offered entertainment for all ages.


The “Maha Songkran 2025” festival has become a key economic driver for the country, enhancing Thailand’s image on the global stage and affirming its position as a premier international festival destination.
