Bangkok Summarizes Lessons from Songkran 2025 to Improve Management Next Year

Bangkok created a vibrant atmosphere during Songkran with celebrations held across the city, particularly on Khao San Road and Silom Road, which became major water-play landmarks for both locals and international tourists.

According to the Bangkok Emergency Operations Center (EOC Songkran 2025), Silom Road welcomed 265,667 participants between April 12–14, while Khao San Road saw a total of 459,737 from April 12–15. Combined, over 725,404 people joined the festivities at these two hotspots, reaffirming Bangkok’s position as one of the world’s top Songkran destinations.

Beyond the main roads, 17 other venues hosted events citywide, including ICONSIAM, RCA, Siam Paragon, the CentralWorld plaza, Lumpini Park, and Yaowarat. These locations offered a variety of entertainment, cultural, and family-friendly activities such as Thai cultural performances, Buddha water-pouring rituals, traditional games, concerts, and high-energy water zones.

To accommodate the growing number of tourists, Bangkok collaborated with various agencies to provide comprehensive support. This included deploying personnel at service points, setting up EOC operation centers, managing traffic, maintaining cleanliness, supplying toilets and clean water at water-play areas, and establishing first-aid stations at high-risk zones.

Songkran 2025 in Bangkok marked another success for the Thai capital as a premier global tourist destination, drawing over 700,000 visitors. With diverse events and efficient management, it showcased Thailand’s capability to host fun, safe, and inclusive international festivals.
