STEMPlus Employment Certification under the Thailand Plus Package

     Employment certification for companies or juristic partnerships operating in the target industry that have hired new employees from 1 January 2019 can be used to pay employees' salary payment and receive a 150% income tax exemption from the Revenue Department.

Eligible candidates that require employment certification include companies or juristic partnerships operating in the target industries, including the following:

- Modern automotive industry;

- Intelligent electronics industry;

- Tourism quality level;

- Agriculture and biotechnology industry;

- High value-added food processing industry; 

- Robotics industry;

- Aerospace industry (covering logistics activities);

- Biofuels and biochemical industry;

- Digital industry; 

- Comprehensive medical industry;

- Defence industry;

- Industries supporting the “circular economy”;

- Resource development and research and development for the target industry.

The new employee's position corresponds to a highly skilled industry target group of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The employee's qualifications, competencies, or experience are consistent with the position. Therefore, the employee's personal information is allowed to be brought into the process of applying for employment certification.

Documents required for the application

1. Job description document;
2. Copy of qualifications, competencies, or experiences document of employees (either), including diploma/ transcript/ certificate/ resume;
3. Copy of employment stating the starting date of work and position;
4. Copy of employees’ ID card.

Obtaining Employment Certification Procedures

Register for employment certification through the website www.stemplus.or.th.
Select “Employment Certification Service.”

Fill in the following information:

1. Applicant Information;
2. Job Information;
3. Employees’ details.

Attach a copy of the following documents:

1. Job description;
2. Diploma/ transcript/ diploma/ resume (either);
3. Employment contract;
4. Employees’ ID card.

Procedures for Consideration

1. The Secretariat of the Board of Directors collects information on employment certification requests and proposes them to experts for moderation;
2. The Secretariat of the Board of Directors provides information on employment certification requests to the Board of Directors to certify training courses for personnel development and employment of highly skilled employees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

Result Announcement

     After the Board of Directors has considered the applicant’s employment certification, an email message will be sent to remind the applicant to check the results of the consideration within 30 days. The applicant can download the employment certificate from the information system himself/ herself.
