Thailand Cyber University (Thai MOOC), with More Than 1.5 Million Students Attending, Creating Life-Long Learning  

     Thailand Cyber University, "Thai MOOC," is able to announce the operation's success. There are 1.5 million enrollees in its courses, known as the Thailand Massive Open Online Course Platform – Thai MOOC – under the control of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. It is an intellectual treasure to enable life-long learning for all Thais. Everyone can study with no condition or registration fee and choose their convenient learning time. When completing and passing the course, they get a certificate.

     This project has been operating for six years and has continually expanded its networks with Thai and foreign universities. One hundred four public and private universities developed all 589 courses, which have had 1.5 million enrollees, at no cost to them; notably, they can keep learning profiles and collect credits to transfer credits. So Thai MOOC is an online platform that answers both formal education and life-long learning. Persons interested in the course may register at https://lms.thaimooc.org. 

     The Thai MOOC platform is a plan to drive economics and the digital society and develop a quality society with digital technology through online learning platforms. This mainly focuses on Thai people’s potential development in upskilling and “reskill,” preparing for 21st-century work with international cooperation linking foreign MOOC credits, such as Korean language courses from K-MOOC, Sungkyunkwan University, and Japanese language courses from JMOOC, Kyushu University.


The courses with the most enrollees are listed below:

  • 178,180 in English for Communication;
  • 68,715 in Cross-cultural Psychology in Workplaces;
  •  61,911 in Basic English;
  •  60,696 in Psychology in Daily Life;
  •  57,540 in the Korean Language 1-2;
  •  55,094 in Blockchain and Bitcoin Technology;
  •  54,675 in Development Teamwork for Professional Work;
  •  53,470 in Development Networks Through Social Media Communication.


     Thai MOOC has cooperated with public and private educational institutes to help all Thais to develop the knowledge and skills they are interested in, learning from experts, with no tuition charge.
